Left and Right Ventricular Hemodynamic Study

Animal species applicable: Mouse and Rat
Application: Left ventricular pressure-volume test and right heart (right ventricular pressure, pulmonary artery pressure) hemodynamic test only applicable to acute experimental phase. Systemic arterial pressure test can be applied to chronic awake animal experiments.

Left Ventricular Hemodynamics Study

The use of a Millar pressure catheter or pressure-volume catheter helps to provide left ventricular pressure, volume and cardiac function parameter, such as LVESP, LVEDP, LVESV, LVEDV, LV dP/dt max, LV dP/dt min, SV (Stroke Volume), Stroke Work, CO (Cardiac Output) and so on.

Additionally, we may obtain various aortic pressure related parameters, such as systolic blood pressure (SBP), diastolic blood pressure (DBP), mean blood pressure (MBP), etc. by using Millar catheter for arterial pressure test.

Right Ventricular Hemodynamics Study

For the evaluation of pulmonary hypertension model, insert the Millar catheter into right ventricular chamber to obtain right ventricular pressure and cardiac function parameter, such as RVESP, RVEDP, RV dP/dt max, RV dP/dt min and so on. Pass the catheter across the pulmonary valve into the pulmonary artery to obtain pulmonary artery pressure related parameters, such as sPAP, dPAP, mPAP, etc.
